Wholesale Black Murex Shells in Bulk, Muricanthus nigritus,  for large hermit crab changing shells.  They measure between approximately 3 inches and 3-3/4 inches. Black murex shells are perfect for hermit crab changing shells, making shell candles, wreaths, displaying air plants and accents in shell baskets and glass containers. Muricanthus nigritus, the Northern Radix or Black and White Murex or Black Murex is a species of sea snail in the family Murcadae.  The back murex shell, or murex snail or rock snail is commonly found in the Gulf of California in Western Mexico. Black murex shells are black and white with dark brown or black stripes with short spikes on the exterior and have a shiny white mouth opening.
