Wholesale Large Warthog Tusks for Carving and for Scrimshaw Art, ranging in size from 9 inches to 9-7/8 inches, measured around the curve of the tusk using a cloth tape measure - not straight! These are good, commercial grade large warthog tusks. Some may have tiny surface cracks and chips. Warthog ivory is obtained from the African warthog and is used for making knife handles, carvings, making handles for walking canes and for numerous other taxidermy craft projects. Warthogs got their names from the bumps on their faces that look like warts. Common warthogs have two upper and four to six lower incisors. The upper tusks are longer and curve toward each other. Warthogs are pigs that live in Africa south of the Sahara.
